About us
We wanted the village. So we built it.
It used to be a street, a stoop, a sister two doors down. Someone who had seen a toddler melt down in a grocery store and could tell you with a shrug that it passes. Most of us do not have that anymore.
What we have instead is a search bar at 2am and a feed full of parents who appear to be doing fine. Neither one tells you the truth: that the thing you are panicking about is ordinary, that you are not the only one, and that there is usually something small you can try tomorrow.
Famsies is our attempt at putting the village back. Small enough to be honest in. Close enough to your stage to be useful. With tools for the ten minutes after it all goes sideways.
What we believe
Four things we are not willing to trade away.
Parents are not broken
You do not need fixing or a certificate. You need context and someone who has been exactly here.
Honesty beats advice
One parent admitting the hard part does more than ten experts explaining it.
Small beats scale
We would rather run thousands of small, real villages than one enormous, hollow feed.
Your attention is not the product
Nothing here is designed to keep you scrolling. Open it, get what you need, go be with your kid.
"I am not the only one." Everything we make has to earn those five words.
If Famsies helped on a bad day, tell us. If it did not, tell us that too — hello@famsies.com reaches actual people.
Questions
The things parents ask first.
Is Famsies free?
Yes. Your village, 3 Moments per month, and the basics are free forever. Famsies+ unlocks unlimited Moments, the complete script library, all stage guides, and private child notes. The Family plan gives your co-parent their own full Famsies+ access.
Who is Famsies for?
Parents raising kids from newborn to about twelve. You can add your co-parent to your account at any plan level. The Family plan gives them their own full Famsies+ access.
Is this just another social media app?
No. There is no follower count, no public profile, and no algorithm pushing you toward outrage. You are in a small private village of parents at your exact stage - and that is where it stays.
Are my posts private?
Your village is private by default. Nothing you write is public on the web or indexed by search engines. You can also post anonymously any time a moment is too raw to put your name on.
Does Famsies replace my pediatrician or therapist?
No - and we will always be clear about that. Famsies gives you developmental context, language, and perspective from other parents. For anything clinical, please talk to your pediatrician or a licensed professional.
What does moderated mean in practice?
Real people read reports every day. Shaming, advice-as-attack, and anything targeting a child is removed. Disagreement is welcome - cruelty is not. See our community promise for the full picture.
